What is Trenchless Sewer Repair?

When you experience pipe problems, it can be concerning to call a plumber. Sewer backups, slow drains, sewer odors, leaks, or gurgling drains can cause huge issues in your home or business. You may be worried that digging trenches and replacing pipes is the only way to fix your plumbing issues. The good news is that often sewer lines are able to be repaired without excavation or replacement. Thanks to new technology, sewer lines can now be lined with a liner from inside the pipe. Big Cat Plumbing is proud to be one of the only contractors in Southern Colorado to provide this service.

NuFlow technology allows us to repair old, broken, blocked or corroded pipes by lining the inside of the pipe using pipe lining technologies. Pipe lining creates a new pipe inside the old one, which solves backup problems, seals cracks, and prevents further corrosion and root intrusion. The flexible liner and liquid epoxy cures in place inside the old pipe, creating a rigid “pipe-within-a-pipe.”

Trenchless sewer repair can be utilized just about anywhere, saves time and money, and minimizes damage to the property as there is no need to tear out walls or cut up slabs. Most jobs require only one or two days to complete! NuFlow lining technologies are also long lasting, projected to last more than 50 years. This process can be performed on almost any type of pipe – sewer laterals and mains, vertical drain stacks, sanitary drains, and waste and vent systems. Learn more about NuFlow here. How do I know if I need sewer pipe rehabilitation?2022-02-10T19:12:27+00:00

If you are noticing a gurgling in your drains, a sewage odor in or around your home, mold or mildew damage, backups in one or more of your fixtures or a flooded basement. These are all signs you have a problem that we can address with our relining method. After inspecting your pipes with our video camera, we will determine the source of the damage and the quickest way to fix it. Relining is also an excellent preventive measure, particularly for older buildings where pipes may be naturally reaching the end of their lifespan.

How much does trenchless repair cost?2022-02-10T19:12:59+00:00

Every circumstance can differ, a trenchless sewer repair typically costs a fraction of what a traditional pipe excavation would. The main reason for this is, that there is less equipment and manpower to complete a trenchless project, but also because the technology allows us to eliminate the digging. The property damage expenses that make dig-and-replace sewer pipe rehabilitation so cost-prohibitive. By providing minimally invasive plumbing options, we have saved our customers thousands of dollars over the years.

I have older pipes. Can you still repair them with Nu Flow technology?2022-02-10T19:13:41+00:00

Yes. We can fix a wide range of pipe problems with our trenchless pipe lining solutions. We have used the CIPP lining process on a variety of piping materials, including clay, concrete, metal, PVC and fiberglass. Other services that we repair are not only sewer mains, but also vertical stacks, vent systems, storm drains, municipal sewer lines and sanitary systems.

Nu Flow’s structural CIPP lining technology is highly versatile and is best suited for pipes that are 3/4” to as much as 12” in diameter. However, we also offer specialty applications for larger pipe systems.

How long will my trenchless repair last?2022-02-10T19:14:03+00:00

Nu Flow’s CIPP lining is designed to be faster, easier, and a long -term solution without compromise. When we install a new liner, it replaces the entire pipe, rather than just patching over one specific problem area. The new pipe is seamless and is resistant to common problems like weather, corrosion or tree root intrusion. You can expect your CIPP liner to last at least 50 years.

Will roots penetrate through the new lined pipe?2022-02-10T19:14:23+00:00

Roots will NO longer penetrate through the damaged or failing sewer pipes. As the new CIPP liner forms a jointless and seamless brand new pipe within the old pipe.

Do I need a video camera inspection?2022-02-10T19:14:47+00:00

Even if you have no reason to suspect a problem in your pipes, any property owner can benefit from a video inspection. That’s because sewer video cameras allow us to catch small issues before they have a chance to develop into larger ones. Even a small clog can put the health of your entire sewer system at risk. Whether it is for a property you already own, or one you are hoping to buy, be proactive and call Big Cat Plumbing for a thorough inspection of your sewer pipes.

Can every pipe be lined?2022-02-10T19:16:57+00:00

Pipe lining can be used in systems such as drains, sewer, and storm water and roof drains, pipe lining works on all major types of drainage piping materials, both inside and outside the building or home. NuDrain can be installed in pipelines with diameters less than 2 inches to over 12 inches in diameter. Some piping with major offsets or grade issues may require further repairs than just lining. A camera inspection is required to determine whether or not your drainage piping is eligible for pipe lining.
